Barbara Corcoran Gives a Tour of Her 'Dream Apartment' in N.Y.C. amid Major Renovations

Barbara Corcoran is preparing to move into her newly renovated New York City apartment in three weeks

The Shark Tank star shared updates on the six-month renovation earlier this week, including design decisions and construction progress

The apartment features a wrap-around terrace with a Central Park view and unique details like a tile “rug” in the bathroom

Barbara Corcoran is counting down the days until she can live in her “dream” New York City apartment.

On Tuesday, March 12, the businesswoman gave her Instagram followers a sneak peek of the ongoing construction at her grand penthouse.

“3 weeks until I move into my dream apartment!” the Shark Tank investor wrote in the onscreen caption of the post. The first slide appears to show a variety of equipment still spread throughout the unit.

In the second slide, Corcoran, 77, gave a glimpse of her bedroom, which features a large floor-to-ceiling arched window pane at the center. “My bedroom is far from finished, but I couldn't wait any longer to spend the night… so for now, it's a bit makeshift until everything comes in,” she wrote.

Another series of pictures shows the progress made in her daughter Kate Higgins' bathroom. The real estate tycoon says the tile “looks like a built-in rug.”

“And her bedroom is getting the final paint touches,” she wrote on another clip showing off the space. “I can't wait for her big green chair to come in.”

In the last slide, Corcoran shows off the property's view from its wrap-around terrace.

“The final countdown is on and I couldn't be happier,” she says. “Follow along for the finishing touches.”

Corcoran first clued in followers to her major renovation last fall. In a November 24 Instagram Reel, the self-described “Queen of New York Real Estate” gave a full tour inside her “new apartment” before starting a “proper makeover.”

Over the last six months, Corcoran has provided occasional updates on the project on social media. In the videos, she frequently sought out advice and insight from followers on some crucial decisions, like tile choices, tearing down walls and expanding the doorway to her terrace with a Central Park view.

Last week, Corcoran shared what work has yet to be done, including building the kitchen arch, installing wallpaper, furniture delivery, as well as crown molding and kitchen tile installation.

“The moment I saw my new apartment, I just knew one thing I was going to do right away: take the wall down between the dining room and the kitchen and look at it now,” she said in a May 5 video. “Wide open and spacious and all the light flooding through, I know it's going to be stunning.”
