Drew Barrymore's honest and silly personality shows up everywhere, even in the kitchen!
The host of The Drew Barrymore Show gave followers an inside look into her cooking in an Instagram video shared on Sunday, Jan. 18. In the clip, the Charlie's Angels star explains she is making pasta primavera.
"Yes, that's my portion, it's a lot!" the cookbook author says at the start of the video, hissing like a cat before adding the noodles to boiling water. "I don't care what you think."
"Okay, I just fished out whatever leftover vegetables I had in my fridge, and I'm going to show and demonstrate, as a terrible home cook, how I make a pasta primavera with leftover vegetables," the mother of two explains with her arms full of produce, including a green bell pepper, carrots, celery and broccoli.
The 50 First Dates actress adds oil, salt, the chopped vegetables, unsalted butter, black pepper, and vegetable broth to a pan.
"Remember, your pasta is going to cook for another two minutes, so really grab it when it's al dente," she describes while moving the cooked noodles to the pan with the vegetables and adding some of the pasta water.
"How in the h--- does anyone make these goddamn videos?" Barrymore exclaims.
"You can't even see what I'm doing!" she realizes while grating cheese before adjusting her phone's position and rolling her eyes.
Barrymore adds fresh lemon juice, basil and red pepper flakes, making a silly sound after adding the spice.
"S--- that's good," she admits after taking a bite. "All that matters is that you get there, to a really good tasting dish. Screw it if it ain't pretty."
Earlier in the weekend, on Friday, Jan. 16, Barrymore posted another food-related video on Instagram. In this clip, she smiles over a rice cooker and eats bites of food over a kitchen counter while audio of Lindsay Lohan from Mean Girls plays in the background.
In the audio, Lohan says, "I spent about 80% of my time talking about Regina, and the other 20% of the time I was praying for someone else to bring her up so I could talk about her more." Barrymore added text onto her video that read, "I spend about 80% of the time talking about what I'm going to eat for dinner. And the other 20% of time I was praying someone will bring dinner up."
