Truman Capote lives! Okay, that’s not *entirely* true. But Jesse Tyler Ferguson is giving us the next best thing, playing the infamous *In Cold Blood* author on stage at New York City’s House of the Redeemer in *Tru*, with an opening night set for March 19.

But you don’t have to wait till then to see the *Modern Family* star — who recently had audiences in stitches in *Twelfth Night* at Shakespeare in the Park — playing Capote. We’ve got your exclusive first look photos of the production.

The pictures not only show Ferguson as the author (as well as costar Charlotte d’Amboise), but they also show off the immaculate and intimate library space at House of the Redeemer, a New York City landmark once owned by a great-granddaughter of Cornelius Vanderbilt.

As far as the show *Tru* itself — which was written by Jay Presson Allen, was first performed on Broadway in 1989, and is now directed by Rob Ashford — the official description reads: "It's December 1975 and Truman Capote is alone in his New York apartment, reeling from a crisis that cost him the elite social circle he adored. Drawn entirely from Capote’s own words, this funny and heartbreaking one-man play is an unflinching portrait of an artist at his breaking point, confronting the consequences of his most scandalous work."
