Who is hosting?

Conan O’Brien is back for a second year in a row to serve as emcee for Hollywood’s biggest night. The decision to have the comedian return was announced almost a year ago, just two weeks after O’Brien hosted the previous Oscars, which attracted the highest viewership for the telecast in five years. ā€œConan delivered an unforgettable performance at the Oscars, and we’re honored to have him and the producing team back next year,ā€ said Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, when the news was announced in 2025. ā€œConan’s unique comedic style perfectly captured the moment, and I’m excited to have his talents back onstage next year to helm another indelible performance.ā€

The major story of this year’s crop of nominees, of course, is Sinners’ record-breaking 16 nominations—the most ever received by any movie in Oscars history. Not too far behind is One Battle After Another with 13 nominations, followed by Marty Supreme, Frankenstein, and Sentimental Value, each with 9 nominations, and Hamnet with 8. (See the full list of nominees here.) The ceremony will also include a new category for achievement in casting—a first for the Academy.
