Pixar's Hoppers clinched the top spot at the box office for the second week in a row with a $28.5 million domestic take and $59.5 million globally.
The animated comedy edged out two new premieres: romantic drama Reminders of Him, which took No. 2 domestically with $18.2 million, and A24 horror film Undertone, at No. 3 with $9.3 million.
Next week, Ryan Gosling's sci-fi adventure Project Hail Mary will vie with Hoppers for the box office gold.
Pixar has hopped, skipped, and jumped back to its position as a box office champion.
After a spate of flops, from the underwhelming Soul to the unremarkable Elio, Disney's beloved animation house has turned out a certified hit. The Parent Trap-meets-Zootopia flick Hoppers debuted to an impressive $46 million at the domestic box office $88 million abroad last weekend. This weekend, it proved that showing was no fluke.
Hoppers scrounged up an additional $28.5 million for an $86.8 million total at home, with $59.5 million globally for a total of $164.7 million, per Comscore. Granted, it's nowhere near the smash success of Zootopia 2, which had earned in just two days what Hoppers has managed to pull together in two weeks. But neither of the film's competitors had a chance against it this weekend, even with the the extra momentum of premiere weekend excitement.

Reminders of Him, a romantic drama starring Maika Monroe and Tyriq Withers, came in at No. 2 both domestically and globally. The film is the second in what is likely to be a long procession of adaptations from the voluminous archive of Colleen Hoover, who authored the source novel for the embattled It Ends With Us.
The Monroe-Withers two-hander, which also featured Lauren Graham and Bradley Whitford, grossed $18.2 million domestically and $28.2 million globally on an estimated $25 million budget. Given budget estimations don't include costly marketing and promotional expenses, the film still has a long way to go before passing into the black.
In the No. 3 spot domestically, but way down at No. 7 abroad, was A24's latest horror offering, Undertone. The film following a pair of paranormal podcasters (Nina Kiri and Adam DiMarco) who stumble upon a disturbing set of recordings. It earned $9.3 million domestically and in total, having not been released internationally. Given its meager $500,000 estimated budget, however, that's a win for the beloved indie banner.

The weekend's box office leaderboards were otherwise a horror story with the slasher sequel Scream 7 and Maggie Gyllenhaal's Bride of Frankenstein reimagining The Bride! telling different tales.
Scream 7 is doing well in its third week of release, with an $8.3 million take for a domestic total of $106.5 million. When its premiere topped the box office in early March, the film broke a franchise record for opening earnings.
The Bride, however, wasn't as pleased with her reception. The genre-smashing odyssey starring newly minted Oscar winner Jessie Buckley struck out with a low $7.2 million premiere against an estimated $80-90 million budget, and in week two, has only added $2.1 million.
Next week, Ryan Gosling will go toe-to-toe with an animated beaver for box office glory.
Project Hail Mary, the latest adaptation of The Martian author Andy Weir's work, will soon touch down in theaters around the world. The horror sequel Ready or Not 2 and Nick Offerman animated comedy The Pout-Pout Fish are also slated for release on Friday, but Hail Mary is in the best position for a box office coup, combining an author who's already struck gold in being adapted, a beloved star, and a massive publicity campaign.
