Invincible is cranking up the volume for the highly-anticipated Viltrumite War in season 4.
The Prime Video animated show follows Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), a powerful teenager who is half-human, half-Viltrumite, and goes by the superhero name Invincible.
Since Invincible first premiered in March 2021, the adult series has been no stranger to violent battles, and the action is only going to intensify. The Viltrumite War is a major story arc from the comic source material that introduces a dangerous new foe: Thragg, voiced by Lee Pace.
"As I was learning more about the story we were setting up, what I saw was a character with a lot of depth and a lot of different extremes. He goes through a lot," Pace told Entertainment Weekly in October 2025 about voicing the villain.
The actor continued, "I don't want to say too much about that because we're just at the beginning of it, but I've also never done anything like this before. I've never done a voice-to-character like this."
So, with the debut of a new supervillain and a war brewing, here's the release schedule for Invincible season 4 episodes.

Invincible season 4 premiered on March 18.
The new season's Viltrumite War is an intergalactic event the series has been building to for years, and it will shape the direction of the animated epic.
"It’s, in a lot of ways, a culmination of all the Viltrumite stuff that we've peppered into seasons 1, 2, and 3," Invincible comic co-creator and series co-showrunner and executive producer Robert Kirkman told Collider in March 2026.

He continued, "It's a really huge progression for the overall narrative of the show, and it sets us up in a big way for the future of the show. This is like a real transition season."
How many episodes are in Invincible season 4?

Invincible season 4 has eight episodes, the same number as the previous three installments.
One of the additions for the new season is Pace who voices the villain Thragg, leader of the Viltrum Empire, where Invincible's father, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons), is from.
"I think that he’s just an all-consuming threat. He’s a bigger threat than Invincible has ever faced, to the point where it’s not just Invincible," Kirkman told TV Insider in October 2025 about Thragg. "He’s kind of bringing in everyone in the show, and things get really dire."

Invincible season 4 debuts on March 18 with the first three episodes dropping at once. Following the multi-episode launch, the rest of the season will be released weekly.
