Kelly Ripa revealed seven wild things husband Mark Consuelos did while loopy on surgery medication.
Ripa told the audience her husband had a comical reaction to propofol, following his foot surgery last week.
At the time, Consuelos, who’s been married to Ripa since 1996, even forgot who his wife and daytime TV co-host was.
Mark Consuelos might’ve just put his injured foot in his mouth in the aftermath of his recent toe surgery.
Days after the Live With Kelly and Mark couple — both 55 — announced last week that he needed to have surgery due to an arthritic joint, the star’s wife and cohost, Kelly Ripa (who also recently had surgery) recounted comical details of her husband’s experience with anesthesia medication propofol before and after the procedure.
After Consuelos praised his medical team (and showed off a highly stylized mobility device he received afterward), Ripa joyously filled the audience in on her husband’s antics before and after he went under for the procedure.

“Typically, I would have a video to show you, but there are signs everywhere in the recovery rooms now saying you aren’t allowed to record the patients recovering,” Ripa remembered. “I will recreate it for you here on the talk show!”
She said her husband was “very funny,” and that she first heard him “coming down the hallway before I saw you because you were snoring so loud that everybody was concerned for me. A lot of medical professionals said, ‘Would you like to sit in another room?’” She declined.
“The first thing you ask is, when are they taking you to do the surgery. And you asked that about 30 or 40 times,” Ripa recalled. “I said, ‘It’s over, it’s done.’ And you said, ‘Did they get it? Did they get the whole thing?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, they got it. The whole bone spur.’ Which is an actual condition, I had no idea. I saw it. I saw his bone spur!”
Ripa said her husband then “seemed convinced that I was in the room when they were moving you from one table to the next, and you wanted to know how you got from one table to the next,” though she wasn’t present for that part of the procedure.
“That was like 30 times, asking that question. Finally, you looked at me and said, ‘Who are you?’ And I said, ‘I’m your wife.’ To which you replied, ‘No,’” said the daytime TV icon. “No, it’s fine, I was dying, anybody in the room, there was a lot of laughter happening.”

The star said Consuelos also asked a nurse if she numbed the area, and when she confirmed, he jokingly said, “Num, num, num, num,” as if affectionately nibbling on the toe.
“That’s my favorite joke,” Consuelos added, while Ripa continued: “She had no reaction. She has heard so much worse and so much weirder, that to her that didn’t even register.”

Ripa said that, before Consuelos was discharged, he indicated he was “ready to go over the medical protocol.” She said she wasn’t convinced that he was in any state to retain such information, due to the way he was sloppily eating a box of Cheez-Its — his first food in over 24 hours, as he was prohibited from ingesting anything for a full day before the team worked on his foot.
“Watching you eat them and navigating where your mouth was, I was like, he’s not ready to go over his discharge. You said, ‘I’m ready, go,’” Ripa remembered, and confirmed that he spent the next two days questioning whether or not the care plan she’d set out for him was, in fact, the correct one: “You then second-guessed everything I was doing for 48 hours!”

Earlier in the episode, Consuelos and Ripa both said that he nearly missed Monday’s Live broadcast — but not because of his surgery. Rather, the couple’s beloved dog, Lena, was up all night with a nasty case of diarrhea.
