Kit Keenan has a lot of big sisterly advice for her younger sibling, Gigi Powers

Keenan stopped to chat with PEOPLE on the red carpet for the 2026 Gotham Ball, touching on her relationship with her famous mom Cynthia Rowley and how she's inspired Keenan and Powers in their aspiring careers

Keenan also shares how she and Powers bounce ideas off each other in their careers

Kit Keenan and Gigi Powers love to lean on each other when it comes to their social media careers.Speaking with PEOPLE at the 2026 Gotham Ball on May 14, the New York City-based influencer opens up about her growing career as a content creator. Keenan is known to her 447,000 Instagram and370,300 TikTok followers for her lifestyle and food content (she recently announced the launch of her upcoming cookbook In Good Taste). Keenan says that her family is a large part of her career as an influencer, sharing how she takes career inspiration from her mother, Cynthia Rowley, as well as how she is advising her younger sister and fellow influencer, Gigi Powers.

"Honestly, I sometimes say that being an influencer is like doing a daily humiliation ritual because sometimes you just have to be on the street with your phone out in front of you," she laughs. "So I think my sister has watched me do social media for her entire childhood, and she's picked up some tips along the way. She inspires me and keeps me young and cool."Keenan, 26, is Rowley's first daughter with ex-husband, Brooklyn sculptor William Keenan Jr., whom she later divorced. Following their divorce, Rowley married William Powers, with whom she shares daughter Gigi, 21.Of her younger sister, Keenan adds, "She's up on all of the TikTok trends and I think she has the most creative fun ideas, so I love hearing those from her."

The pair frequently feature in each other's TikTok videos, and most recently have been collaborating on a fun, informal series which they've affectionately dubbed "Project Mom's Approval" that sees them raid her fashion atelier and attempt to create clothing pieces they think their mom will love, in a Project Runway-stylesetup.

Keenan also touched on how her mom's prolific fashion career has shaped her own career. While she says she definitely finds herself "more in the food and cooking space," she appreciates "fashion from afar" and is "so inspired" by her mom.

Keenan initially rose to fame as a contestant on season 25 of The Bachelor, and has since amassed over 347,000 TikTok followers and 44,000 followers on Instagram.

She largely focuses on sharing cooking content, branding herself as a "young Martha Stewart stuck in Blair Waldorf’s plotline," per her website. Her cookbook will touch on those facets of her personality, according to its Simon & Schuster biography. "Shaped by the generations of women in her family, she learned how cooking could bring loved ones together," it reads. "Over time, Kit defined her own culinary point of view, one that echoes her personal style—effortless, distinct, and always chic. Alongside her snapshots of daily life as a West Village girl, Kit shares approachable recipes for cooks of all levels."
