Rock the Country festivalgoers won't see Ludacris this summer.

The 8-location touring music festival announced its lineups earlier this week for shows scheduled between May and September, and Ludacris' name was on the bill alongside fellow rapper Nelly as well as country acts including Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and Jelly Roll.

However, Ludacris' name was since removed from the lineup on the festival's website with no announcement.

Rock the Country confirmed the change to Rolling Stone, while a rep for the "Money Maker" rapper, 48, told the publication his initial inclusion was a "mix-up."

"Lines got crossed and he wasn’t supposed to be on there," his rep told the outlet.

PEOPLE has reached out to reps for Rock the Country and Ludacris for comment.

Following the initial Rock the Country lineup announcement, many fans took to Ludacris' Instagram comments and expressed disappointment in his then-scheduled appearance alongside various artists who've publicly aligned themselves with conservative political views.

"Wtf better cancel that concert if you want to keep your fans," wrote one fan. "Don't be on the wrong side of history. No paycheck is worth it."

Another Instagram user wrote, "At this point these rappers used their people to become known only to sell us out... not even disappointed anymore I just know everybody has a certain number that they will be anything for..."

"I’m so disappointed in you, Luda, you were my favorite and I thought I wouldn’t have to worry about you getting wrapped up in this type of nonsense," read another comment.

Rock the Country will also include performances throughout its run from Creed, Brooks & Dunn, Riley Green, Miranda Lambert, Hank Williams Jr., Ella Langley, Shinedown, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jon Pardi, Brantley Gilbert, Treaty Oak Revival, Gavin Adcock and more artists.
