In the very short history of this series, "NFL Draft Stock Report," there has never been a more obvious call than this. This isn't just a sell, it's a strong sell. It's basically, unload it all, at any price available, kind of sell order.

South Carolina's Dylan Stewart, on paper, should be the number edge rusher in this class. We're talking top 10, maybe top 5 overall pick level here. He has all the talent in the world, and every "measurable" that a NFL scout could ever ask for. All the raw material in the world is right there in his hands.

However, his decision making, temperament and this season, his on-field production, could not be any worse. On Sunday, South Carolina suspended Stewart indefinitely, and if you want to know the reason why, Twitter/X has got more coverage than you'll ever need.

Here is footage of him punching an opposing player, in the later stages of the Gamecocks' 49-18 annihilation at the hands of Alabama last night:

Amazingly, he was not ejected from the game for doing that. In the next clip, you will see him blowing right past his own head coach Shane Beamer, pretending as if the man does not exist.

Beamer may have indeed lost the locker room, as many have speculated, but this behavior by Stewart is ridiculous. At the end of the 2024 season Beamer had the Gamecocks knocking on the College Football Playoff door. Then they lost the Citrus Bowl to Illinois, Bret Bielema outgamesmanshipped Beamer, and the program started to freefall.

Beamer could be on the hot seat, and it looks like the idea of handing Stewart a big, huge bag of money was a major mistake.

On this night, Stewart embodied the classic line from the timeless baseball film Bull Durham: "million dollar arm, ten cent head." South Carolina are not getting any return on investment from all the NIL money they handed to Stewart.

His statistical line for the 2026 season reads as follows: one tackle.

Yes, that is all. And it's not a sack or a tackle for a loss either. At this point, we don't even know when he might be back to play again to try and beef up that very thin stat pack.

His 2025 season was worse than his 2024 campaign, so the downward trend continues. Meanwhile Colin Simmons of Texas racked up five sacks in one game at Tennessee. Yes, Simmons had a postsack celebration that was totally disgusting and completely low class, but that's another story for another time.

For now, the Simmons vs. Stewart debate for who the top edge rusher prospect is now over.
