“Off Campus”’ Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli Shut Down Feud Rumors: ‘We’re Laughing About It’

Both the actors were asked separately about speculation that they’re feuding off-screen, which was quickly shut down

“I laugh every time I hear them,” Cameli said

Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli are laughing off the speculation that they’re feuding off-screen.

The Off Campus costars attended the 2026 MTV VMAs together on Sunday, Sept. 27, and were individually asked about reports that their relationship had gone awry, which originated after Cameli, 28, deleted a few photos from his Instagram that featured Bright, 19.

“I laugh every time I hear them,” he told Entertainment Tonight of the rumors. “I’m happy to put them to bed, I mean, Ella and I are extremely close.”

“It’s really entertaining, and sometimes fascinating, the conclusions people will jump to,” he said. “She’s the best.”

Bright was similarly quick to shut down the idea of a feud, telling E! News that she and her costar laugh about the speculation. “Belmont and I spend every day on set together, so we’re in the green room, and he’s on his phone scrolling, he’s like, ‘Haha, remember when we did that?’ Like, that never happened.”

“It’s so funny. So, we’re just laughing about it. That’s all you can do,” Bright said.

“We’re all best friends,” she added of the hit Prime Video show’s cast.

Ahead of the show’s premiere in May, Bright told PEOPLE that she and Cameli became “very fast friends” after they were cast. “We have so much fun together. He’s the greatest.”

“[We] met at the chemistry reads, we got each other’s numbers and we’ve just been friends ever since. I mean, when you spend that much time with someone on set — we’d have like 15, 16-hour days — you have to be just the best of friends. I really look up to him a lot.”

The cast returned to film season 2 in Vancouver this summer — the second installment will focus on the romance between Dean (Stephen Kalyn) and Allie (Mika Abdalla) — and Cameli told PEOPLE that “nothing [was] different,” despite the massive success of season 1.

“I think a big reason why the show has success is because we’ve protected the magic of it in season 1, and we’re really doing a great job of doing that,” he said. “It just feels like normal work and just the same as last summer.”

“We’re having great conversations with our creators and our directors all the time about this new season, so it’s all very much the same,” he added.
