According to a source, one decision by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could leave King Charles “disappointed.” Thenews comes as the Sussex pair remain entangled in a security dispute over their protection arrangements. Soon after they returned to the UK, the monarch confirmed that the couple remain non-working royals and private citizens.

Buckingham Palace is said to be heading for a potential “collision course” with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The tension reportedly stems from their unwillingness to “walk away” from quasi-royal duties.
In a September 7 communication issued via Lord Chamberlain Lord Benyon, King Charles addressed the current standing of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The letter made it clear that the couple is “no longer working Members of The Royal Family”. The statement further read, “In short, their position is akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.”
As for Harry and Markle’s stance on informal royal duties, an insider shared with Woman and Home, “It is their belief that they have a great deal to offer charities and good causes that could benefit from their support. If the King thought that issuing that letter would simply make them fade away, he will be deeply disappointed.”

Per the Daily Express, they shared that the Duke has no plans to step away from his charities. The source added, “It is no exaggeration that this is likely to put them on a collision course with the Palace.”
On the philanthropic front, Prince Harry launched the Invictus Games back in 2014 for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women. Recently, he attended the inaugural Invictus Spirit Gala Dinner and Awards in London. Harry is now actively preparing for the games set to take place in Birmingham in 2027.
At the same time, the King’s youngest son continues his long-standing patronage of WellChild. He has served as patron of the charity for seriously ill children since 2007 and recently attended its annual awards in central London.
