Weeks after revealing her separation from second husband Simon Borchert, the *American Pie* star has finalized her divorce. A representative for Elizabeth confirmed the news to Page Six, sharing that the split came after a "difficult" separation.

In a Monday statement to the outlet, Elizabeth said, "Today isn’t about the end of a marriage. There are moments in life when you realize that letting go can be exhilarating, that closing one chapter creates space for an entirely new one, and stepping into that feels incredibly liberating."

She continued, "I’m embracing what comes next with a full heart and a renewed sense of purpose. I’ve never felt more inspired, more creative or more connected to who I truly am."

Elizabeth's divorce comes on the heels of the actress taking control of her Hollywood narrative by joining OnlyFans. The actress, who is best known for playing sexy foreign exchange student Nadia in the raunchy *American Pie *franchise, announced last month that she would be joining the provocative social media platform in an effort to create on her own terms and show "a more sexy side no one has seen."

Around the same time, reports emerged that the actress had quietly filed for divorce from Borchert, whom she wed in 2021. In the weeks since, Elizabeth has been back in the public eye, opening up about her Hollywood journey and decision to join OnlyFans.

Earlier this month, she fessed up to earning "more than seven figures" in her first week on the website. She later divulged what the money would be going towards, sharing that she has been living with friends since her split from Borchert.

"I have to find a place to live," she told *Page Six* in an interview published May 5. "I haven't figured out where I'm going to live, and if I'm going to buy, if I'm going to rent... I need all my stuff out of storage."

At the time, Elizabeth also candidly revealed that though the page keeps growing in popularity, she had not yet received actual cash in her pocket.

Thanks to the success of *American Pie*, which hit theaters in 1999, Elizabeth was launched into sex symbol status. Throughout the early 2000s, she was a fixture in films including *Scary Movie*, *Thirteen Ghosts*, *Love Actually*, and *Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back*. Now, Elizabeth hopes that her OnlyFans success will allow her to be more particular in choosing acting roles and give her opportunities to direct and produce.

She also plans to put some of her earnings towards her Shannon Elizabeth Foundation, which aims to protect endangered species and their habitats.
