*Fast & Furious* really is forever.

After Universal recently dated the final film in the franchise, *Fast Forever*, for a March 2028 release date, Vin Diesel has announced plans for four programs set in the *Fast* Universe.

“For the last decade, we have realized that the fans have wanted more,” Diesel said Monday at the NBC upfront presentation. “They wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories. And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space. And I had to wait till it was right."

In classic Diesel fashion, he then declared, "The news that I have here today is that Peacock is launching four shows from the *Fast & Furious* Universe.”

No one is better at manifesting than Diesel, but, for the time being, only one show has been officially confirmed as on the way from Universal's streaming service.

Core *Fast* family members Diesel, Neal Moritz, and Chris Morgan will be among the producers, while *Shades of Blue* veterans Mike Daniels and Wolfe Colman are set to serve as showrunners and the writers of the pilot.

It's kind of shocking that it took this long for a *Fast* series to get fast-tracked, considering the franchise has become Universal's crown jewel, releasing 11 films over 25 years and grossing more than $7 billion at the box office. To date, the only TV project had been Netflix's animated *Fast & Furious Spy Racers*. But Diesel pointed to Universal boss Donna Langley's promotion to chief content officer as the reason why now is the time to make the jump to television.

"It became right when Donna Langley started to oversee it all," he said, "because that’s when I knew that the integrity of the characters, the international appeal, what makes us all feel like family would be protected in the TV space."

The Fast and The Furious

The flurry of recent *Fast* news comes after a long stretch of silence. Released in 2023,* Fast X* was billed as the first of a two-part finale, but the disappointing reception seemed to lead to Universal and crew to look under the hood and do some fine-tuning. Initially planned for a April 2025 premiere, *Fast 11* didn't get an official release date until Diesel broke the news this past January that *Fast Forever* will race into theaters on March 17, 2028.

"There is a particular weight that comes with delivering a finale," Diesel wrote in March on Instagram. "A responsibility you feel in your chest, to everyone who gave something to get here, to the audience that stayed. You don't take that lightly. You take it as fuel. And when you find out you're going back to Los Angeles… back to the streets where it all began, something clicks into place. The city that made the first film feel alive, still here, still holding. Coming home to close it out right. That's not logistics. That's a gift."

It will be quite the week for Diesel, who, after announcing the *Fast *show development, will jet off to France, where *The Fast and the Furious* will have a special 25th anniversary at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday night.

At this rate, the family will never say goodbye!
