Former All My Children star Walt Willey is reflecting on a proud moment, congratulating his former on-screen son Michael B. Jordan following his recent Oscar win.

Jordan appeared on All My Children as Reggie Porter Montgomery, taking over the role from Chadwick Boseman in 2003.

Willey shared the heartfelt message on his personal Facebook page.

“CONGRATULATIONS to my AMC son, "Reggie," Michael B. Jordan, for last night's Oscar win! Such a proud father am I!” he wrote.

Willey went on to share that the cast and crew of All My Children always believed Jordan was destined for success. “All of us at AMC knew that Michael was going to be BIG!” he added.

He also recalled the moment Jodan’s contract was not renewed in 2006 and how the cast reacted. “When he came on set after a meeting with our Executive Producer and - with tears in his eyes - shared that AMC would not be picking up his contract, we all had the same reaction: ‘You're on to bigger and better things, MJ!’”

Looking back, Willey said the belief proved to be true. “And, boy, was he ever!” he added.

Wiley also reflected on their close bond behind the scenes, sharing a personal story about their time working together. “Michael used to ride in to work and back home with me when our schedules coordinated. His Mom would drop him off (they lived in Newark) at a donut shop in Jersey City (where I lived), I'd pick him up and off we'd go.”

He continued, “We enjoyed each other's company and I found him to be a fascinating and earnest young man, with strong family ties, a fantastic work ethic and decent to the bone.”

Willey emphasized that those qualities have never changed. “He still is all that,” he wrote.

He concluded his message with one final note of praise. “So congratulations again - and ALL LOVE - to one of the hardest working and most deserving actors out there!”

Jordan took home the Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in Sinners.
